W221/W216 Instrument Cluster Video Injector
Aftermarket systems are available for most vehicles that allow for video to be displayed on the stock/OEM navigation systems. These systems work by directly working the display and cutting the infotainment brain out of the equation, where possible. Unfortunately doing the same on an instrument cluster display is exponentially more complex. In our case we need the ability to add a FLIR camera video feed to the instrument cluster display, in addition to the OEM night vision camera video feed. This will be accomplished by using a custom coded FPGA and various custom built hardware and decoders. Integration with the vehicle will be handled by the ModuleSettings product, which will monitor the CAN bus for button requests and in turn relay these requests to the video injector.
